“There is no private salvation; exchange with the other is the door to the final awareness of the unity of all in the love which is the dance of creation.” – Helen. M. Luke.

The truth of Helen Luke’s statement is born out in the group dynamic of many spiritual organizations, especially Alcoholics Anonymous. What AA has proven over the years is that you don’t have to be religious to experience grace. The simple commitment of a group of people to be rigorously honest with themselves and each other creates a space in which healing and transformation can occur.

There is a similar experience to be had by participating in an intuitive reading. An intuitive reading is the exchange of truth between people. When you participate in a reading you discover that you have a lot in common with the other people. It is one of the most effective ways of getting out of feelings of isolation. When you “see” and communicate with another spirit, and we are all spirit, you not only validate and affirm that individual but you also affirm yourself. By “self” I do not mean your ego or small self, but the larger self, what we might call your spiritual self, which “lives only in the present moment”. In fact in a reading you become free of the ego’s “supremacy in the psyche”, which is at the root of much of the competition we get into with others and which is the cause of such feelings as alienation and isolation.

There is another kind of freedom to be experienced in a reading, it is the freedom from our automatic reaction to judge what we become aware of. In our everyday consciousness we tend to label what we experience through our senses in an either/or fashion. It is either good or bad, nice or horrible, enjoyable or not enjoyable. When you are in a reading and in a light trance, you experience a broader, more neutral level of awareness. Without the knee-jerk reaction of judgement you are able to see things more clearly. You are able to perceive and understand how things come to be, in other words, cause and effect, the law of karma in action in our lives. This awareness leads us to an understanding of how everything is connected, how we are, as Thich Nhat Hanh put it, “interdependent beings”. Rather than limit our personal space and autonomy, this awareness actually frees us from the delusion of separateness.

Intuitive reading is not for everyone, but for those people who want to have a deeper understanding of themselves, their true self, and who want to experience the healing power of spirit to spirit communication it is available and it is something you can learn how to do.
